Chinese motorbikes in Pakistan

Chinese origin motorbikes owners are growing more rapidly than their Japanese rivals. Main reason is their fuel efficiency and durability. In addition, their after sales service is much better than the Japanese assemblers. And they are much cheaper than Japanese ones. So in last 10 years, the number of Chinese motorbike assembler has been just tripled and in number they are 72.

The assembling companies are situated mainly in Lahore, Sindh, Beluchistan, Punjab and Karachi. But the assemblers try to avoid Karachi because the assembling cost is too high there.

Assemblers are playing an important role to resolve the unemployment problem. This sector has provided 50,000 full time and 150,000 part time jobs. The number can increase to a magic number if the government tax and duties are lowered to a reasonable amount. Now they are also earning foreign exchange by exporting motorbikes to Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
